Hello! :(

I have never built an hackintosh, but I am thinking about it now..

That is.. I am building a pc, but I want to have components that might work with osx aswell,

Anyways..

I have found that the asus P5LD2-VM might be a good choice. BUT from the info in the webshop I am buying from, it says that the P5LD2-VM supports core 2 duo...

BUT in the info about E6600 it says it needs intel 965 chipset... and the P5LD2-VM has 945g express chipset?

So I am a bit confused here....

anyone that has some tips?

And here is the "pc"parts I have chosen...

Asus P5LD2-VM

Asus GeForce 7300GT 256MB DDR2, Silent, PCI-Express

Corsair Value S. PC5300 DDR2 2048MB

Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB SATA2 16MB

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz Socket LGA775, 4MB, BOXED

any comments ?

regards

I think you are correct on your choices.

Mine works very nice with the E6400

But keep an eye on Revision 2 of that board.

I have found mine here in Greece in a lot of different shops, but only one had the Rev.2 version.

Only Rev2 is capable for C2D

I too have the Samsung HDD HD401JL, but i think a Seagate or better a WD 500 will be faster than the Samsung.

For even better system disk, a Raptor is excellent choice. (I wish i could boot from my SCSI U2W 10.000 Atlas)

I have no experience from a dedicated VGA card, as i am with onboard right now, but i am looking through the topics on what model of Geforce to choose from.

take BAD AXE =)

mobo is the main thing in any machine.

and if u wanna 100% compatibility - you have no choice - only Intel bad axe.

better go with e6300/6400 cpu and overclock it little on this killer mobo and you'll get FASTER machine at all for the same money.

here is my XBench results.

and Geekbench results
