Cebit
Hi people, Under System Profiler, I get this reading: Machine Name: Mac Machine Model: ACPI CPU Type: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ Number Of CPUs: 1 CPU Speed: 2.2 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB CPU Features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 HTT SSE3 Memory: 2 GB Bus Speed: 400 MHz Boot ROM Version: F7 (Award Software International, Inc.) Is this normal for my dualcore CPU ? The Activity Monitor shows 2 Columns for CPU Usage and my Xbench Score is around 125. lord_muad_dib
check activity monitor, you should see 2 cpu graphs Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42780-1048-on-amd-x2-4200-number-of-cpus-1/#findComment-305896 Share on other sites
Ferret-Simpson
Remember, that is correct. You only have one CPU, with 2 cores. Intel chips can be detected by system profiler as multicore - In which case you get a second line Number of cores: Or something like that. Since you say the activity monitor shows multip[le graphs, the system is detecting the second core, and assigning it properly - It's just the inferior software System profiler.
