I love Adium, it's an amazing IM client. One thing that nags at me, though, is the apparent inability to change the background color of a typed message.

I'm trying to get red, bold text on a black background, because any primary color on black looks sick. I can go to the Fonts panel and change the "text color" value to red, and the style to bold, and it all sticks. But in the same box, if I change the "document color" to black, it sticks for one message and is gone.

Yes, I have hit the "Save settings as default" button. I was hoping this might be fixed in 1.0.1, which came out today, but it wasn't.

Message windows can also be changed for 5 included themes, any of which can have

a custom background and font. ... Adium’s theme system relies on two

interchangeable components, Color Theme and ... to change your Contact List

Themes, Dock Icons, Emoticons, Message Styles, Scripts, .... hell said this on

March 06th.
