Apophis
Hi all, I have a Asus P5W DH Deluxe board and everything went great with the Jas AMD/Intel dvd. Only issue is the jmicron ide buss. I had installed two ide drives off this port and at first glance they were recognized and seemed to work. A day after this I started getting kernal panics, got about 3 or 4 until I discovered it was the jmicron doing it. And also xbench kept getting an error when trying to bench those ide drives. I was reading on the forums and it said something about a jmicron kext being on the OS install dvd. Question, was this kext automatically installed with the default installation of the OS or do you have manually drag it over? I did a search of my kexts and didn't find anything referencing jmicron. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I need to see if I am getting those kernal panics because I don't have the proper driver installed or indeed that I do already have installed. I did many searches in the forums but couldn't find much as you have to wade through 100's of post with just the mention of the keyword "jmicron". thanks!
