nightfly2000
Hi I´m new here. I have a Dell Inspirion 8600 with Jas 10.4.8 sse2. A lot of my components works very well. (cpu throttle, resolution change, audio, wired lan, usb, firewire, touchepad, touche stick) I have tried some installers like macvidia, or natit to get full support for my videocard. When I install the natit driver, then I can´t boot into osx86. I get an restart picture or a black screen! Has anyone the same videocard running full (with quartz extreme and core image)? I als have tried a intel 2200 wlan mini pci card with the guide. But I can´t install it. Has anyone a running mini pci wlan card working on his dell inspiron 8600? I want to know whether a other mini pci card works for my notebook. Notebook config: Video: Geforce 5650 Audio: Sigmatel CPU: Pentium M 1,5 Ghz Wlan: Intel 2100 mini pci card Chipset: intel 855pm Here is my profiler status: Chipsatz-Modell: Unknown nVidia Typ: Monitor Bus: AGP VRAM (gesamt): 128 MB Hersteller: NVIDIA (0x10de) Geräte-ID: 0x031b Versions-ID: 0x00a1 Monitore: Monitor: Auflösung: 1680 x 1050 Farbtiefe: 32-Bit Farbe Core Image: Nicht unterstützt Hauptmonitor: Ja Synchronisierung: Aus Eingeschaltet: Ja Quartz Extreme: Nicht unterstützt Monitor: Status: Kein Monitor angeschlossen greets Chris
barchetta
Hi Chris, I have exactly the same configuration: 8600 with Go5650. I had installed the NV40 drivers at installation, eventhough the Go5650 is a NV31. As a result, like you I can switch resolutions, from 800x500 (!) to 1920x1200, but have not accelerated video (CI, QE). I tried MacVida and NATIT drivers but also got the black screen. Here's a bit of bootlog: Feb 22 17:45:56 localhost kernel[0]: NVDANV30HAL loaded and registered. barchetta
Hmm... I just had a tought - we both have a Pentium M, which doesn't support SSE3. Possibly the Titan drivers (and MacVidia) need SSE3 for CI and QE to work? Marc
nylock10
Try out my 10.4.8 SSE2 / GeForce QE/CI install guide:http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=36480&st=0&p=259462entry259462 Make sure to check the last page after you get QE/CI. nightfly2000
Hi I doesn´t tried your tutorial complete, but i tried the thing with the original update and edited all kext. But it doesn´t worked. I tried the titan kext but the also doesn´t worked. So I don´t know really I tried the natit.kext and edited all geforce kext to. I also installed the AGP gart kext. But the also doesn´t worked. But today i´m very surprised because I tried all the things a few days ago. And today I wanted to check something in the system profiler and i could not believe what i saw. I looked to core image and quartz extreme and there stand it is supported. The only thing that i want to check is the agp thing, because when i typed at the system boot -v the agp doesn´t loaded. But when i copy the agp gart again to the extensions folder the would be showed correctly at startup. So i will try it but i am not sure whether the core image and the quartz extreme worked after i copy the agp gart again into the folder. I also doesn´t know if the dual display is supported but i will check it! Here is my system profiler status: Unknown nVidia: Chipsatz-Modell: Unknown nVidia Typ: Monitor Bus: PCI VRAM (gesamt): 128 MB Hersteller: NVIDIA (0x10de) Geräte-ID: 0x031b Versions-ID: 0x00a1 Monitore: Monitor: Auflösung: 1680 x 1050 Farbtiefe: 32-Bit Farbe Core Image: Unterstützt Hauptmonitor: Ja Synchronisierung: Aus Eingeschaltet: Ja Quartz Extreme: Unterstützt Monitor: Status: Kein Monitor angeschlossen Is there a way to change unkown nvidia to my Nvida 5650 ? And Is there a tutorial where i can get my cardbus running? I have I texas instruments 4510 cardus chip! Thanks for help Greets chris from Austria
barchetta
Chris, can you confirm QE and CI are working? (I mean, does things like zooming (ctrl + scrollwheel) really go smooth? Can you play a DVD now? By the way, on my setup my card is recognized (no "unknown nvidia"): NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5650: Chipsetmodel: NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5650 Type: Beeldscherm Bus: AGP VRAM (totaal): 128 MB Fabrikant: NVIDIA (0x10de) Apparaatcode: 0x031b Revisiecode: 0x00a1 etc. As of now QE and CI aren't not working, but I really haven't tried it this time around Marc
barchetta
Here is my system profiler status: Unknown nVidia: Chipsatz-Modell: Unknown nVidia Typ: Monitor Bus: PCI Interesting! According to http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...36044&st=60 , removing AGP seems to work on some cards. And indeed, your bus is now said to be PCI instead of AGP. I'm currently in XP-mode, when I'm back on OSX, I will try to remove AGPGart! Marc
barchetta
Update: Nope - deleting AGP doesn't work. Yes, it now says PCI in the system profiler, but no QE nor CI. Well, that would've been too simple I guess Marc
barchetta
The AGP-bit is the key. I used this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/i...php/t36044.html and still didn't get QE/CI, but did get hires 1920x1200. Note: I didn't install Titan from the DVD. Then I deleted AGPGart and hey presto, Bob's your uncle! Zooming (Ctrl+the scroll wheel on my Mighty Mouse [yes, my first Apple hardware!]) is smooth, F12 is smooth, I'm happy now Marc Edited March 18, 2007 by barchetta
