Hi,

After installing 10.4.8 (with the latest available kernel) I cannot get any drivers to work for a Diamond ATI X1900gt. The computer boots into the OS and I can run applications, etc. without problems. However, when I try any of automatic install drivers (by neopheus) I either run into graphic distortions or black screens upon reboot.

I would like to try the manual method detailed in some discussions, but after going to terminal and typing the commands:

sudo -s (and enter your password)

cd /System/Library/Extensions/ATINDRV.kext/Contents/

emacs Info.plist

the <string>IONDRVDevice</string> is not listed in the file.

Any ideas or can anyone offer some advice?

Thanks!

The problems are driver related (not monitor) because the computer locks up after logging in (when using Natit or the Neopheus installers). The screen displays random squares of different colors and will not respond to input from the mouse or keyboard...

Thanks,
