jbehrne
Hi, After installing 10.4.8 (with the latest available kernel) I cannot get any drivers to work for a Diamond ATI X1900gt. The computer boots into the OS and I can run applications, etc. without problems. However, when I try any of automatic install drivers (by neopheus) I either run into graphic distortions or black screens upon reboot. I would like to try the manual method detailed in some discussions, but after going to terminal and typing the commands: sudo -s (and enter your password) cd /System/Library/Extensions/ATINDRV.kext/Contents/ emacs Info.plist the <string>IONDRVDevice</string> is not listed in the file. Any ideas or can anyone offer some advice? Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42102-x1900gt/ Share on other sites
munky
Are you trying to use the 'borisbadenov' installer or the Natit installer? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42102-x1900gt/#findComment-300935 Share on other sites
jbehrne
Are you trying to use the 'borisbadenov' installer or the Natit installer? I've tried the Natit installer w/o luck. Currently I'm trying the 'borisadenov' version. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42102-x1900gt/#findComment-301405 Share on other sites
Purple Puppy
Sometimes distortions can be caused by CRT monitors. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42102-x1900gt/#findComment-301555 Share on other sites
jbehrne
The problems are driver related (not monitor) because the computer locks up after logging in (when using Natit or the Neopheus installers). The screen displays random squares of different colors and will not respond to input from the mouse or keyboard...
