EL MACHOTE
Hi, jose I stumble into this tread just now and it sounds interesting. To enable your onboard sound chipset it has to be done via (bios setup) during the start-up or what you call boot. To get the bios window depends on your motherboard manufacturer., it is usually by either hiting the delete tab, f1, or f2., some board will let you know on the first boot screen what tab to hit to enter the setup screen., if you still have your mobo manual or you can download one in pdf from from your motherboard manufacturer as you read the manual you will learn how to navigate your bios setup. Once you enter your bios setup look for the advance chipset features and there you can *enable or disabel* the sound. In the past I have seen some motherboard that the sound is enable via a jumper pin on the motherboard it self wich it be located as you face the motherboard on the bottom left area by the pci slots *jumper pin works on old motherboards*. So, with that said I hope I was of some help. good luck.
