sadiekiller
I just re-installed OS X (jas reseed 10.4.8 sse3 intel) and I went through the prosces of downloading updates from apple. none of them seemed like they could do any harm to my computer (app updates and security updates only), but for some reason now it freezes on boot. Here is the -v code I get: Feb 11 17:01:59 localhost /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow: Login Window Application Started Registering for 802.11 Events [HCIControler][setupHardware] AFH Is Supported It makes me think that there is something in the airport update that is messing with my bootup. Does anyone know what to do or should I maybe try taking my wireless card out (which has never worked with my system) and see if that solves it. Also, it occationally hanged on the first line of that code without displaying the others during boot. do i need to replace the loginwindow app with an old one? EDIT// Pulling out the wifi card did nothing at all. psionic68
Aswell as LoginWindow.app, if you can you could try replacing IO80211Family.kext with one from an earlier install.
