pablocsm
I have a hp compaq laptop nx6110 with a sse3 pentium and 915intel graphics card, installation with JAS 10.4.8 was fine and all hardware excepts wifi works fine and fast, i can't work with this system only for one thing, the boot... the system don't boot ramdomly, sometimes the first atempt is fine but other times i have to boot 5 or 6 times to have my system up. when fails its freeze in the blue screen just atfer the grey screen with the apple logo. I tried with -v option and seems to me a fail with intel graphics card drivers but i not sure about it because maybe the next time works fine... doing nothing! any idea? thanks. pablo. Neonkoala
As it is GMA900, I trust you are keeping an external monitor or VGA dongle to convince the OS to boot up as if neither a real or fake monitor is detected the GMA900 won't let you boot past the blue screen for some reason. vashpan
I have similar problem, but I have other configuration ( and I think other reason of this ). I have random restarts, just after loading kernel extensions ( after "Loading Darwin/x86..." ) Then, system restarts without any blue screen, kernel panic, anything. Just restart. Options like -v, -x, -s -platformX86PC, -legacy - nothing helps. Anyway, system at least starting after 3-4 restarts, and everything working like a charm. I think it may be a problem with kernel ( I have 8.8.1 semthex Nebukednazar ), but I'm not sure. I have the same problem at booting from install DVD ( Jas 10.4.8 SSE2 SSE 3 ) ( there's the same kernel ) But I don't have this problem at 10.4.7. Maybe it's a known problem ( I have searching forum, but I don't find anything matching my problem, maybe becouse forum is so big ) So, anyone have something like this ? Anyone fix it ? My Specs: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice Core ( SSE3 ) 1 GB RAM DDR400 GF 7300GT 256 MB RAM ( PCI-Ex) chipset: VIA K8T890 kernel: 8.8.1 semthex Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41944-ramdom-boot/#findComment-305889 Share on other sites
bpopilek
I have a Gateway MT6821 with the Intel chipset and I also run into this problem. I can boot it every time one day, and the next I can't get it to boot at all. If I ran a -v command the last time it didn't boot and it stopped booting right after it loaded my firewire driver. Any suggestions or ideas? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41944-ramdom-boot/#findComment-306775 Share on other sites
