AcuraTSX2245
Hello, I have a custom built computer with specs that will run os x. I was wondering if there was a way to natively install it without loading windows first? Are there any good tutorials for this? Thanks! mlmorg
Yes it's very easy. Installed the new Jas image today on a blank IDE drive following these simple instructions: http://www.profit42.com/index.php/2007/02/...elamd-computer/ make sure to check the wiki before asking questions like this...people will get mad. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41919-installing-os-x/#findComment-299593 Share on other sites
AcuraTSX2245
Whenever I insert my jas disc it isn't like the guide says with a spinning apple. Does this mean I have the wrong disc? mlmorg
No not necessarily. Mine doesn't show the spinning logo before I have installed it. It's basically just verbose mode on my PC showing all the loading it's doing. It takes about 5 minutes on mine to actually get past that and into the actual setup. So if it looks like a loading screen in verbose mode then keep on truckin. If not then maybe your disk is corrupted. I don't know why it's not always the grey loading screen. Just wait! It's very slow during installation. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41919-installing-os-x/#findComment-299604 Share on other sites
AcuraTSX2245
Whenever my pc boots up it takes me into the Darwin screen, where I just pressed enter to install. After I press enter it just sits at this screen with a bunch of text. Does this mean anything? I have a Core 2 Duo, and it has been at this screen for over an hour. mlmorg
Well, I'm not totally sure about this but I think osx doesn't like dual cores and you might have to disable one in the bios...not sure but I remember reading that somewhere. Where does it hang on the darwin screen, what is it saying at the end? Also, probably a good idea to post all your specs so other people can help if they have run into this too.
