Has anybody ever walked into the Apple store with what you thought was plenty of money only to find out you were short $10? I've never had this problem at any other electronics store for some reason. I walked in with $170 for an iSight camera. After getting a sales representative to dig around for one, I waited on line for about an hour (no exaggeration.) When I finally got to the cashier, she scanned the box and told me the total was $172. Apparently I'm not the only guy who runs into this sort of problem, because she routinely placed the iSight box on a small shelf behind her which was practically overflowing with items. It was obvious that the shelves's purpose was solely for items that customers couldn't pay for. There was an iLife box, an iPod Nano, dot Mac, and other seemingly random things on it. Needless to say, the people behind me were really impatient and I felt like a dumbass.

About 2 months later, I walked into the store and found a pair of Sony ear buds. I stood online for a good 30 minutes and got to the counter. I was expecting them to be maybe $50 at most. The cashier scanned the item and $74 came up on the screen. What did I do? Without so much as I word, I casually just turned around and walked out of the store without even bothering to take out my wallet. I walked only about 3 stores down through the mall, went into the Sony Syle store, and found the exact same pair of headphones, and paid $45.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few other people on this forum have had similar experiences. Now, I only use the Apple store to use their computers on display to check my e-mail when I'm in the mall or to check out some other products. My new philosophy: play with all the stuff they have set up, but don't buy any of it. Order Apple products online.

yes!!!!!!!!! i brought like $200 into an apple store for a lacie external hard drive. It's like a 160gb HD, so the cashier ring it up, and it's $220!!!!!

so i went home and found a box on the street that had a bunch of old electronics, and it also had a really crappy 80gb CMS HD, which is the HD i've had for a year and a half, and i didn't pay anything for it!!!!! but now it's breaking!

apple overprices non-apple products.

I had this kind of buying problem with batteries. I bought from my relative place for 85 and next day was walking in other shop and found the same mark and stuff with 45..

Then an other situation when I went to buy my computer. It costed $1000 and the next week in the same store it was $750.

Life is a {censored} get used to it ! :(
