Lurker here posting for the first time because I ran into this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So install went great, everything seems to have gone good.

Here's my setup. Dell 600M 40gig partition, 512mb Ram, Ati Radeon 9000.

Well it starts up and starts to load. It gets to the point with the grey Apple and the spinning wheel below it.

Then all of a sudden it freezes and has small horizontal lines across the screen then it all slowly fades out to a completely white screen. Keyboard doesn't respond and no HDD activity.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to resolve this problem?

Thanks in advance everyone!

ya know, i'm having almost the same problem on my Gateway CX200X, install went fine, reboot, apple logo, spinning, then nothing, garbage grey screen with random lines floating around the screen, no hdd activity. Hope you figure it out, if you do let me know!

Success!

My computer Specs Are:

(Gateway CX200X Tablet PC)

Intel Pentium M 1.87 GHz

Intel 915PM

1 GB DDR2

Ati Mobility X600SE

After several installs, the working installation steps were taken: i erased the partition, deselected EVERYTHING except the things that 10.4.8 installer would not let me deselect, including X600 support and common hardware. Ticked the Intel support, and completed installation. Audio works fine, (conexant onboard sound).

so excited posted this right away, will do further testing on what else works and what doesn't.

Awesome, I'll give that a shot right now and see how it goes.

I originally had everything unchecked except for Intel SSE2/SSE3 and common hardware.

I'll try again with everything unchecked except for Intel and see how that goes.

Installation went fine. Then Mac starts, only some random coloured stuff (also gradients) blocks and triangles.

I work on a AMD Sempron 3000+ (64bit)

I think it's because of the grapic card -> ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (256MB)

Can anyone help me out please ?
