Hello-

I'm trying to get the JaS 10.4.8 AMD install DVD so I can have a newer kernal than what I have now (I installed the 10.4.5 disc, and then used the JaS combo update to get to 10.4.8).

I'm downloading the install disc right now (I'm pretty sure it already has PPF1 in it (someone hosted 8 .RAR files of the disc but I'm not sure if they're patched); the torrent I was downloading from TPB hadn't even brought in a download speed yet, and I don't have a Demonoid account), but I want to add Defiant's PPF2 to make sure I don't have any problems with installation.

How do I add PPFs to the .ISO? I saw something about PPF-O-Matic; I searched Google and wasn't sure if any of them were actually what I need.

Can someone give me a link and instructions to patch it when I get it? thanks!

-Craig

It isn't PPF2 per se, merely another PPF meant to be applied after PPF1.

From what I have read, there are some problems with PPF-o-matic in OS X. It is best to use PPF-o-matic in Windows, at least that is what I have done. Open the PPF-o-matic application. First select the ISO file to patch. Then select the PPF to apply, and start it. Note, the ISO file will be modified. IT DOES NOT PUT OUT A NEW FILE. Therefore, if you want to keep the old ISO you must copy it.

The PPF-o-matic application is included in PPF1. I can't remember off the top of my head whether it is included with the_defiant's PPF.

Do you know if there's any other place to get PPF-o-matic? I'm pretty sure the disc I'm downloading already has PPF1 applied to it, it it would be redundant for me to download the entire PPF1. Is there a web site, or a torrent of just PPF-o-matic?

Thanks!

[EDIT] I think I got it. I downloaded from a FileFront link (http://files.filefront.com/ppf+o+matic3exe...;/fileinfo.html).

Could someone confirm this for me? It has a source box for ISO files, and another one that the default file type is .PPF for applying patches, so I'm guessing this is what I need...I just don't want to screw it up![END EDIT]
