Pasechnick
Hello The history: I've got 2 HDDs (look the picture for numbers): #1: 1 - main linux partition with Ubuntu installed on it // EXT3, primary 2 - formated partition for OSx86 install // FAT32, primary 3 - linux swap partition // linux-swap, logical #2: 4 - Vista partition // NTFS, primary <...> some NTFS logical partitions with data on it 5 - Vista swap partition // NTFS, logical Now, the problem: I format partition 2 with gparted from ubuntu, then I load OSx86 installer, launch Disk Utility and format partition 2 first as FAT32 then as "MacOS Extended Journaled". But after that installer doesn't see my partition . Here's the info after 2 formats: Am I doing things right or no? P.S. sorry for my bad English and low camera quality. macgirl
Mac OS X does not like Logical/Extended partitions. At least convert your logical partitions on disk 1 to primary Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41589-installer-doesnt-see-the-partition/#findComment-297789 Share on other sites
Pasechnick
Mac OS X does not like Logical/Extended partitions. At least convert your logical partitions on disk 1 to primary So I converted logical partitions to primary. Now it looks like it was formated normally: It's shown in Disk Utility as HFS ... but it can't be mounted or something like that. When I press "Mount" button in Disk Utility, it makes some things for about 3 seconds but after that it stays unmounted. I also tried to mount it through Terminal but got "Invalid super block" error. What does it mean? I really got stuck this time Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41589-installer-doesnt-see-the-partition/#findComment-298039 Share on other sites

Kuj0317
I have a very similar problem with a dell inspirion d600. I can see the two partition of my HD (both are primary) in the disk tools, but if i click mount, nothing happens. I cannot mount either the NTFS (windows) partition one, or Partition 2 (which i have tried in many different formats) I am using acronis disk director suite to do my partitioning. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
