x512dev
I installed JaS OS 10.4.7 on my Celeron D 3.2GHz, ati radeon xpress 200 chipset, and I still get the dreaded "waiting for root device" message. Any suggestions? -512 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41421-still-waiting-for-root-device/ Share on other sites
hecker
This happened to me when my drives were not connected or configured correctly. How are your drives attached to the mainboard (what cables, positions, etc). How are the drives configured in your BIOS (manual or auto?). hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41421-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-296313 Share on other sites
pulponair
Could you provide more information about your harddrive setup? If you are using sata disks adjust them to combined mode. bye, nikolas Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41421-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-296315 Share on other sites
x512dev
I have 2 drives, one regular ATA hard drive as the primary master and one EIDE CD-ROM drive as the secondary master. -512 Edit: Whoops, I think I found the problem I forgot to select this during installtime: Edited February 7, 2007 by x512dev Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41421-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-296460 Share on other sites
