Beselch
Hi, First of all, sorry for my english because I don´t write it so much (I´m spanish). I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 with JaS 10.4.8 iso, semthex kernel and a X1300 graphic card, so I have installed the "Natit Auto" driver. My problem is that it doesn´t recognize my laptop screen. I see a black screen after the gray apple. When I connect my CRT monitor to the VGA output, all is ok (I see my desktop on the CRT monitor and I can change resolution). Any idea? Thanks! Welcome to the club We have bad news for ya: x1300 sucks. You wont find here anybody who managed to setup 1280x800 on laptop screen with that card. 1024x768 without natit. thats all folks. you can have opengl+quartz extreme acceleration, but with mouse tearing if ya would like.. revout
While I agree with you, Bandes, I do want to point out that you can force a max resolution in the boot.plist higher than this (I try to force mine to 1680x1050, comes out 1400x1050 or something; stretched, but it works). However, as pointed out, I haven't heard of anyone getting a widescreen (non-VESA) resolution to work through this (or any other method) on this card yet. The mouse tearing associated with ATI cards can be largely solved using L_X's MightyMouse set: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=35843. I still get a little tearing on webpages with this and in apps with the cursors not included (cursor in Word for example), but it solves about 95% of it. I think L_X's solution is great (it's even endorsed by JaS!), and I think word needs to spread about it as I frequently see people complaining about tearing or the resources taken up by MousePose when they no longer need to! I have hope for a working X1300 driver. I've been reading on this board for as long as I can remember that sound from a Sigmatel 9200 was an impossibility, and Taruga recently solved that! Keep your eyes on the board, Beselch, and you never know when you might see something. Knocks
The card doesn't suck. It's a great low-heat solution for Vista Aero if you don't do hardcore gaming on your PC. I hope there is a proper OS X driver for it eventually.
