When I upgraded to FCP 5.1.2 from 5.1, it no longer starts up. It hangs and uses 100% CPU at "Loading Audio Filters". I've searched all over an haven't found a solution that works yet. I've tried trashing preferences, repairing permissions, reinstalling FCP and Quicktime (7.1.3), updating everything, etc and nothing has worked. I'm running OS X 10.4.8 on Intel CPUs. I ran the following command in terminal:

sudo fs_usage -w -f filesys Final\ Cut\ Pro

immediately after clicking on the FCP icon and the last bit of output it produced was the following:

11:38:49.-775 open F=97 /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.bundle/English.lproj/SystemVersion.strings -2147.-483648 Final Cut Pro
11:38:49.-775 fstat F=97 -2147.-483648 Final Cut Pro
11:38:49.-775 read F=97 B=0x138 -2147.-483648 Final Cut Pro
11:38:49.-775 close F=97 -2147.-483648 Final Cut Pro

That's where it starts freezing. I also ran the same command with FCP 5.1 and it produced output so different that I can't really correlate the two. However, if someone who has FCP 5.1.2 could run this same command immetiately after they click the FCP icon (you have to have root privs to run it) and post the output that immediately follows the output I posted, I'd greatly appreciate it. That MIGHT help me determine what's hanging up FCP on startup.

OR, if anyone has any other suggestions I'm open to them as well.

Thanks,

-Matt
