I used Macs from age 5-18, then started using XP when I got to school. I've been working as a Windows IT guy (I picked up the OS fast) since then (I'm now 22) and now that I'm out of college and moving to California to pursue showbiz, I think it's time to make my glorious return to the Mac OS, which I'm sure has missed my graceful keyboard shortcut commands dearly.

I'm running a hand-built Core 2 Duo rig. I want to get OS X 10.4 running, with Parallels (I just cannot give up on Trillian) and I'm a gamer, so I guess I'll have to rock some Boot Camp(right?) as well so I can dual-boot into Windows and game my heart out.

It this a good idea, or even possible? I would love to get some advice and initial thoughts from you crazy OSX86 badasses before I dive into this. Here are my specs:

Antec P180 Mid-tower ATX case

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 - overclocked to 3.06Ghz

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Motherboard

OCZ DDR2 PC2 6400 - 2GB RAM

eVGA 256-P2-N516-RX GeForce 7800GT

2 x 19″ Hanns G DVI LCD Monitors on one dual, pivoting arm

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 sound card

250 GB SATA Samsung Spinpoint Primary Drive (in 2 partitions) - “Rocky” and “Colt”

250 GB SATA Samsung Spinpoint Secondary Drive - “Tum Tum”

How should I go about doing this, and will I still be able to game at full speed, etc. Thanks guys!

should work fine, use acronis or something else to dual boot. (my cheap way of doing it is to have 2 har drives, 1 mac, 1 pc, adn just unpluging one when i want to use the other
