Guest IanP
I just installed JaS 10.4.8...problem is I can't get any internet working. Can someone tell me how to do this? I use a router which connects to a cable modem. When i go into Network Port Configurations in Network Setup, it has Built-In Ethernet, but I cannot select it because "I do not have the necessary hardware or I am not connected." What do I do? BTW, I have a 3com 3C920 Edited February 5, 2007 by IanP Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41248-1048-cant-get-internet-to-work/ Share on other sites
intrax
Search the forum for a working kext for your ethernet card or maybe you can make it work by entering your device id into the kext... there is no quick fix... you need to study and investigate to get it working like the rest of us... Jorryn
I have the same card as you. I replaced my IONetworkingFamily.kext file with this one. After I replace the 10.4.8 version with this 10.4.3 version I removed the cache files to allow them to rebuild on boot. I used this kext file http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry309098 I then removed /System/Library/Extensions.mkext and /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache Then rebooted system. Card worked perfect after that. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41248-1048-cant-get-internet-to-work/#findComment-313428 Share on other sites
