Sleepy Sentry
I installed OSX86 JaS 10.4.7 on my Dell Dimension 4700 with these specs. I would have used the SSE3 patch, but it gave me a double kernel panic after installing. SSE2 works fine and it's what I'm using now. However, I would like to be able to use SSE3 as it supports more applications. Here are my system specs: Pentium 4 3 GHz HT Prescott 1.5 GB DDR2 RAM Dell Motherboard Made by Foxconn w/ Intel 915G chipet Intel GMA 950 graphics 40 GB WD IDE hard drive My CPU supports SSE3, but as I stated, I can't get it to work. Is there a way I can get it to work? If not, why doesn't it work? And in case anyone asks, I did search around. The only information I came up with is other users with the same Dell 4700 model computer are using SSE2, also. However, it does support SSE3. Would getting a new motherboard possibly help in my efforts to get SSE3 working? Sleepy Sentry
10.4.7 Yes, I am 100% sure the CPU supports SSE3. Here is proof: http://www.3dnews.ru/documents/10434/03_cpu-z-p4_531.gif By the way, the CPU is a Pentium 4 531. EDIT- It looks like I found my solution! I need to upgrade to 10.4.8. http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/i...php/t31421.html Edited February 5, 2007 by Sleepy Sentry Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41178-sse3-wont-work/#findComment-294397 Share on other sites
