Hi, I have downloaded both image files of macosx 10.4.4 and 10.4.6 but i have not managed to install any of them..When i boot from the dvd i get to a window where i see an apple in the middle and my hard drive seems to be running non stop and everything freezes. From then on i have to forcibly reboot. I went into verbose mode from -v and i get the following message:

IOPCCARD Notice: Bad bridge mapping at 0x000a0000!

not found

IOPCCARD Bridge: start failed

System config file '/library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist' not found

I have a compaq presario 2560EA.

If you have any suggestions please help

Thanx allot!!

Sometimes it will seem like it is frozen during the start of the install while it is probing hardware and things like that. Have you tried to let it keep going for say 10 minutes before assuming it is frozen?

The IOPCCARD error messages are sort of normal and not a problem. I have them at every boot on a system that finishes booting up fine. The missing boot.plist message I am not up to speed on. It might be normal when booting from a DVD though.
