pc_guru
I've tried to install osx86 with the image that i got, but when rebooting (after apply dd to the image), i got this error message (in spanish, my WinXP pro is spanish) : "Error al cargar el sistema operativo", translate into english should be : "Error loading the Operative System". My image tiger-x86-flat.img has 4.293.216.256 bytes of size. Is this one right ?, because i've readed in some guides/tutorials that this image (deadmoo) should be : 6 GB of size. Someone can give me a hand ?. Thanks you. thrunner
Please search MD5 http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...pic=3499&hl=md5 Deadmoo is not tiger-x86-flat.img. It is some user named deadmoo with password bovinity that did some early patching to bypass TPM then made an image of his working OSX86 of about 6GB partition. Tiger-x86-flat.img needs to be patched to become something called Generic patched released 1... DVD which should boot in 90% or so of PCs. You probably need to find the release 1 patch and read the instruction there. pc_guru
Thanks friend thrunner, i have the right one !!!. But i haven't DVD, so i'll try the partition HD install (using dd). The trouble is that when i open the .bz2 file i got 10 files, among them the "tiger-x86-flat.img" file of 4.293.216.256 bytes of size instead of 6.441.910.272 bytes of size. What's happening in my instance ?, I'm using 7 zip application to decompress, maybe i need another decompressor ?. Thanks you. sam_the_killer
try decompressing the tiger-x86.tar with the help of WinRAR 3.30 or above. Initially, i also faced the same problem with WinRAR 3.20. But afterwards everything went fine. pc_guru
try decompressing the tiger-x86.tar with the help of WinRAR 3.30 or above.Initially, i also faced the same problem with WinRAR 3.20. But afterwards everything went fine. Thanks you for help sam, i got WinRar 3.51, but yet i was getting the same error. A friend (DrJägermeister) gave me an idea that i had seen in a tutorial some days ago, my Win XP is mounted over an FAT32 partition and this only allow files upto 4 GB of size, so any file bigger than 4 GB will be truncated at that size. In order to get installed osx86, i did create another partition (NTFS) and there i did reinstall Win XP, after this i could to install successfully osx86 !!!. Now i'll apply the patchs. Thanks you very to you and all people that gave me a hand !!!! :D :D .
