Seems like this could be a great 'sticky' thread for people to post deals on parts and supplies that have been reported to work well (better than average) with OS X.

I can start the ball rolling with this one:

Part: Motherboard

Deal: Intel 975XBX2KR "Bad Axe 2" Mobo $182 Shipped

Another good deal... full credit goes to SlickDeals... I love that site... I've saved so much I'm going broke! Anyway, on with the deal. :pirate2:

Item: Seagate 320GB 16MB Peropndicular drive 7200.10

Coupon code: EMC213320GBCUDA (takes $5 off)

Final Price: $84.99 shipped

Other Highlights: No rebates & Free shipping

Lowlights: People in NJ (and other states) gotta pay tax. :(

NewEgg price $89.99 - $5.00 off coupon = $84.99

Remember, if you order more than 1 buy them individually (since shipping is free anyway) and that way you can keep reusing the $5 off coupon for each drive/order.

Nice price ... but I'm glad I didn't wait... I just finished building my box this past friday... Here were my final specs.

- E6300

- BadAxe2

- nVidia 7600GT Video Card PCI-E

- 2GB DDR800 Corsair RAM (not the uber-highend but still very good ram)

- (x2) 320GB Seagate 7200.10 Drives

- Samsung? Toshiba?? 18x DVD burner (had this from last year)

- Antec P150 Case (nice case btw)

- Antec Modular Power Supply

I think that sums it up... All together I spent about $900 ... $1000 bucks but then many of those items had rebates so once I get the rebates back it comes out to about $800 for the whole shootin match.... Pretty dern good system for $800 bucks.

Had lots of fun Friday...

- CPU and Video card delivered FedEx @ noon

- Built the box

- Installed OSX

- Installed Ubuntu

- Installed XP Pro

- Installed Office XP

Got everything triple-booting by 10PM

Not bad for not having built my own system since.... since... Well lets just say my last homebuilt had a state of the art 386sx and an mobo with Award BIOS on it.... :)
