dabstar
I'm having some issues with the on-board broadcom 440x ethernet adapter on my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. OS X recognizes the adapter as a bcm 440x but refuses to get an ip-adress from my DHCP server. Setting network info manually doesn't provide me access to the network either. Any ideas? richard.xsi
well, i'm also on the inspiron6000: the wired Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller works after i manually changed the ip and netmask etc. i use it for my local network. will try later to see if it will work in a internet environment. richard.xsi
it works without any problem here. i'm behind an "excel"(origo based ) router. everything is fine. even safari, it doesn't crash until now,hm~~ Mac OSX 86 10.4.1 (the old deamoo image with maxus's 0.5 patch). still no time to get the 10.4.3 dmg from bt. maybe your problems come from the 10.4.3 ? guismai
The pb is actually with the 10.4.1... (not tested with rhe 10.4.3) The network work fine if you boot on OSX directly. If you are on XP and you reboot on OSX, the network doesn't work. Strange, i know ...
psykr
It only works from a cold boot for me too. Warm boot from Windows XP kills the Ethernet adapter for some reason.
