musket
Hey, I just put together a new pc and was having some problems intsalling osx. The problem ocours before i even start the install, when im booting off dvd. The dvd starts to boot...all kinds of text starts to load... but then it stops at "Still waiting for root device". Any ideas what this means? or how i can fix it? I had installed osx x86 before on a P4 PC, I was sure that it would be smoother on a sse3 cpu...maybe not. Motherboard: ECS PA1-MVP ATA DVD/CD-RW Drive Pentium D 3.0 ghz x1950 ati graphics Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40596-problems-installing/ Share on other sites

hecker
Hiya! I had this problem when I hadn't set my DVD-ROM device manually in the BIOS. Try setting all drives in your BIOS section. Also try setting the device's speed manually and disable 32-Bit support if available. Good luck!
