DJAngelicon
Wasup guys, I am new to Mac world and I just finish building a new system and was curious about doing a Dual Boot with XP. I came across a lot of great site to install the Mac OS 10.4.8 version. However, when I get to the Utility Disk section to erase the 40gig Fat32 Partition made in Acronis Disk Director. I get an error something about not enough privilege and then when I try again it looks like is doing something, but the partition continue to be grey out. Any idea what I am doing wrong I been trying to follow the instruction correctly. Would like to give Mac since I only had worked with Linux and Windows OS. Thanks In Advance! Disk Utility will not erase non Mac partitions (to the best of my knowledge). Be careful with the following or you may trash your install ... 1) Use diskpart under windows DOS cmd window to delete the partition and 2) then create a new Mac formatted partition: create partition primary id=af You should now have a recognized volume that is eraseable, etc... under Mac OS ... DJAngelicon
Thanks, I finally got it fixed with your advice. I was missing the whole diskpart section which was what help recognize the partition once it was deleted and recreated.
