John Smiley
So got OSX installed on a Dell Inspiron 9400 and it runs very nice and snappy but one of the first problems that I need to fix to keep this thing useable is the wake from sleep function. When I shut the lid of the laptop OSX goes to bed and doesnt wakeup after. HOWEVER when the lid is open the screen will eventually shut off and that will restore on keystroke so my question is this. Is there a way to get OSX to handle this power problem OR is there a way to tell macosx to sleep the screen when the lid shuts INSTEAD of sleeping the system? Chrysaor
Use mifki/daemones kernel. Sleep doesn't work with semthex kernel with mine. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40428-laptop-sleep-lid-problem/#findComment-288611 Share on other sites
Neonkoala
Or disable the sleep function upon closing lid with Insomnia.kext. Google for it. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40428-laptop-sleep-lid-problem/#findComment-289531 Share on other sites
