X3M
I've got D-link network card. OSX detects it (as Ethernet PCI0) and tells me to configure it and apply settings. But when I do so, it duplicates port ... I mean adds one more card w/out any configuration and makes it default. Any time I press apply it does it. I don't know what to do — I can't use network at all. And the second thing is I need to change Ethernet (MAC) adapter (network card) address. Something like 'sudo ifconfig en0 ether 00:80:48:E1:B1:6C' doesn't help — I simply get no result. That may be connected with first problem, I think, but may be not. Is there any other working way co change mac adress in OSX86?

SMka
when i start MacOS X - my MAC adress on my LAN is default. (For example 00:00:00:00:00:00) then i used "sudo ifconfig en0 ether aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff" (aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff - this's MAC adress i need!) and my network and internet starts work! But if i turn off (or reboot) my PC - MAC adress sets by default(00:00:00:00:00:00)! WHY??? Any suggestions???
aPpLeFrEaKpEePs
I was also having the same problem on my comp. when I installed a realtek 8139d based LAN card as my nforce netwroking wasnt working.. But then it got rectified automatically..(dunno how) Regarding ur mac address issue sudo ifconfig DOES NOT WORK WITH ANY OSX86 install as the kexts for natively supported LAN cards do not yet have the capability to modify MAC address.
