Hello,

I'm trying to install OSX on my PC (Dell Dimension 9100).

My machine is a Pentium D, 2 GB RAM with two 160GB Seagate SATA drives. Vista is installed on the first drive (C:) and I am trying to install OSX on the second drive.

I'm using the JAS 10.4.8 image.

I'm able to install everything just fine with no error messages. I create the partition on the new disk (using Disk Utility), and then install OSX. When I reboot I get the white screen with the grey apple logo, along with animated circle image underneath showing that my system is doing something. However, after waiting a few seconds I then get a grey screen with a message telling me that I have to restart my computer. I'm unable to get past this screen, even after restarting it just keeps appearing and I have no idea why.

I've looked through the forum and have been unable to find any answers, so please please help if you can, as I'm desperate to get this resolved.

I read somewhere that OSX may not support SATA drives (seems weird) so I even went and purchased a new external USB drive and tried that. I got exactly the same error. So I'll be returning that external drive.

I've followed all the instructions from the Profit42 site (Simple Dual Boot - OSx86) but still no luck.

I look forward to hearing back from anyone that can assist me.

Thanks in advance,

Matt
