Ok, well I installed Mac OS X JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 on my laptop. Its a Acer wtih a Core Duo T2300 CPU (SSE3), 120gig SATA Hdd, 1gig of ram, etc. I blanked the HDD and started fresh, the install all goes fine, but when it reboots to load OSX for the first time, the Darwin loader works fine, then up comes the Grey screen with the white apple in the middle and thats all it does. No hdd action after that. Not even the little swirly circle that usually shows its loading comes up. Any ideas why its hanging? I did the install with the intel support and the common drivers package install. Any clue? What should i try first? I want this thing to boot up!

hi, this is my first post in this forum.

iam on desktop, but i dont know witch gfx card do you have. you can try to install without the x11, thinks it needs a better gfxcard. my passive Geforce 4 MX did not run. Installation runs perfectly, but when i booted first after the logo comes just the screen to reboot. So i musted change to an active Geforce 5200.

I still can't seem to get it to work, I have tried everything... Installs fine, then reboots and comes up with the white apple screen with a mac logo in the middle and that is all it does. Is there any back-door way of trying to get it to boot or any way to disable something through the command line thingy? Any ideas at all??

My Comp:

Acer 5672WLMI

Intel Core Duo T2300-E

1gig DDR2

ATI Radeon X1600 video card

120gig Toshiba SATA Hdd

sounds for me that there might be a problem with the hdd. my os shows the same picture (macos logo) after a crash, so i musted push the reset button in working os. after that it dont want to finish the boot process.

there is an option to fill the hdd with zeros in the installation disk utility i guess. i did do like installing xp, and delete partition, create, and delete again.

good luck

Hmm, i tried -v and -x and it still didn't work. I just got the tubgirl version and tried it, and that one isnt working right for me either. It installs Mac OS X and after reboot it looks like its loading it, ex. lines of text start scrolling down the screen like its loading, then it says its loading the driver for my ATI X1600 video card and then after a few seconds the screen goes black and thats all that happens... any ideas??

Ok, So i just re-installed the tubgirl version WITHOUT the ATI X1000 series driver and it loaded fine. But now i don't get any of the fancy animations and such. Is there a driver i can get for my Radeon X1600.. and if so how the heck do i install it?? I dont know jack about Mac OS!
