Conan Obrien
i would try verbose mode type -v when you get the boot options in darwin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40160-reboot-message/#findComment-286594 Share on other sites
DaJinx
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure what I'm looking for but here is a pic of the screen: It just stops there and dosen't go any further, I've erased and reinstalled for the past 3 days and the same things has been happening. Just really want to get it working. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40160-reboot-message/#findComment-286681 Share on other sites
DaJinx
Okay finally, finally I got it to install and it loaded and I'm posting this message from my Mac installation so I am happy. I have one issue however and this has probably been asked before but during the installation as I was selecting the customizing options, I had to deselect the ATI options because I think that's why I was having the problems the past couple days but now I only have one reloution I can use, how can I fix things so that I can change the resolution and refresh rate? DaJinx
I believe when I went to initially install OS X when I went to customize the install to include the patches, I selected unnecessary items. I only selected the Intel SSE2/SSE3 options and after it finished and rebooted it finally booted and I was able to set it up. I did a search of the forums and found some info selecting uneeded options so I just left them out and viola! Can you tell me which forums you used to determine which optiosn to selelct? Should we just accept the default options initially, and then go back and add the SSE2 and SSE3 patches after? Please let me know as I am really keen to get this installed and have been troubleshooting it for several days. Thanks... DaJinx
I used this ISO: JaS 10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 & patched it with the PPF1 & Defiant diskutility patch. I'm not sure since there seems to be alot of versions out there but that particular ISO I used I only selected the options for Intel SSE2 SSE3 & 10.4.4 Login Window Fix then clicked install and that finally worked. If you select unnessessary options then you're system won't boot.
