need help (audio, USB)

justed installed jas 10.4.8 on my Compaq presario notebook, below are the specs:

512MB Memory

80GB Sata Hard disk

Integrated Altec Lansing speaker

High speed modem, Integrated 10/100 LAN.

14" WXGA Brightview Widescreen LCD

My audio and USB are not working, audio controller is Conexant High Definition Audio (compatible with Intel HD Audio), USB controller is Intel 82801G.

I've downloaded the .kext file for Intel audio, but i don't know how to patch (though i read e wiki guide), and I've got no idea how to fix USB issue. Please help me to solve these problems, thanks in advance.

You have HDA Audio. There is a 40 page thread on it in Hardware/Drivers. Read it, and see if it can help you.

You have a problem with your USB. This is because you installed stuff with jAS that you didn't need, and aren't hardware that the stuff is compatible with. I'm guessing the USB Audio driver fix.

 

Reinstall from scratch with ONLY the hardware support you need.

 

Also note that you do not need the GMA900 drivers that are in the installer, the GMA950 drivers that give you basic support.
