smajli
What can I be doing wrong? The system boots with the apple in the beginning than no video. I would greatly appreciate if some one can correct me. I'm trying to get QE/CI working using JaS.10.4.8.SSE3.Intel.Only with patch. When I have the Nvidia option unchecked during installation, than I'll have video without QE/CI. I have posted this question before with no luck so far. I thought I could write down the steps I have taken this time. Device ID for Nvidia Quadro FX 1300 is 0x00FE 1.)Started my computer...F8 than typed "-s" in Darwin. 2.)Than I typed "mount -uw /" 3.)Than I typed "nano System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext/Contents/Info.Plist 4.)"<string> 0x004010de& 0x01d810de" was changed to "<string> 0x00FE10de". I deleted "& 0x01d810de". 5.)Did the same edit for NVDANV40HAL.kext and NVDARessman.kext 6.)I did a "chown -R root:wheel" and "chmod -R 755" for all 3 files that I edited. 7.)Removed ("rm") "Extensions.mkext" and "Extensions.kextcache" in "/System/Library" Than I pressed the restart button on the computer Any advice will be very appreciative... thanks Edited January 28, 2007 by smajli Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39962-nvidia-on-osx-1048-with-patch/ Share on other sites
fleaplus
Have you tried swapping to the other DVI connector? When I use Natit, the display will only come up when it is plugged into the top DVI connector rather than the lower one. smajli
Fleaplus...I have 2 monitors hooked up to my card through VGA fo monitor sharing. The only DVI connection I have is my TV. I'll give it a try but I'm wondering if my editing the 3 files is right. Thanks..I'll give it a try! bamdad
hi, see the other topic on this in hardware (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=39627). i belive your modifications are right (worked partially for me), i am using uphuck v1.4 r2, no titan, no natit, no nvinject (macvidia - site is down, somebody should upload the files here, i think). will try again with them soon. if you still get a black screen, try removing them.
