Vertigo50
I have an ATI Radeon 9800 SE, and am using the basic VESA drivers (I think) as I haven't done anything to use any others. But I'm having a strange display issue. When I use the "Graphics Mode" tag to set the display to 1280x1024x32@85, it sets the mode just fine, but my screen is "squashed" to the right. That is, the display fills my whole screen, but there is a black bar of about 100 or 200 pixels wide on the left side, so the rest of the display is squashed vertically. I've tried numerous different refresh rates, and nothing seems to make a difference except setting it to 1024x768, in which case it fills the whole screen again. Any ideas? Vertigo50
Am I doing something wrong? I've started 3 threads on these forums and never gotten any replies for my questions. What is going on? Am I doing something wrong?

hecker
Hi there, it could be that you just need to readjust your screen. Does it have an auto-adjust feature? I would also recommend you install the Callisto framebuffer. It lets you change the resolution from the system preferences panel and should recognize your monitor automatically. Good luck! Vertigo50
As far as adjusting the screen, I thought of that, but that's not the issue. It's fine in Windows, Linux, etc. The screen is adjusted fine, OS X is just acting strange with it. I will try Callisto, though. Thank you for the tip.
