equilibriumuk
I've installed parallels on my hackintosh just to test it out really would be nice to switch between the two OS's without rebooting. The only problem is when I start the VM it crashes and reboots the system. At first it did it on accessing the CD drive. So I tried my XP_SP2 slipstreamed ISO which seems to start the install, but just crashes on the loading drivers part. The apple grey screen with power logo flashes up for a second or two before the system reboots. I've tried changing settings in parallels like the Intel VT-x support etc, but it doesn't seem to make any difference at all. My specs etc are in my sig Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39784-parallels-crashes/ Share on other sites
equilibriumuk
I have got it to go further into the setup now. So far I've got it to format the drive in NTFS but then when it starts copying files it just crashes and reboots the computer I also got a crash on "Setup is loading files (PCI IDE Bus Driver)" I'm on a ICH7 chipset so I would expect it to be ok (not using any kext patches or anything) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39784-parallels-crashes/#findComment-284578 Share on other sites
equilibriumuk
I seem to have it working now It only seems to work on 1cpu tho, on dual core I just get those random crashes. Does anyone know if I can setup parallels to use 1cpu instead of both cores? then I can boot normal. Can feel the difference in speed Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39784-parallels-crashes/#findComment-284820 Share on other sites
