Look for "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Int el.SSE2.SSE3" and "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Int el.SSe2.SSe3.v1p.ppf", apply the .ppf patch to the .iso and burn the resulting image to DVD. Then install. The clue: read comments to those torrents. I've downloaded "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Int el.SSE2.SSE3" and "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Int el.SSe2.SSe3.v1p.ppf", and I Applied the .ppf patch to the .iso. 1 - I tried without the patch : always the same result : doesn't match kernel 2 - With the JaS patched : always does'nt match kernel 3 - Tried with selected just one processor ? -> doesn't match kernel..... grrrrrrr It's always the same entry : ...Storage ??? I'm so sad, I think i'll never succeed... Me am a noob??? Please experts, help me. Thanxss. chevy2410 Posted February 10, 2007 Share Posted February 10, 2007 No you don't need XP installed to install OSX. There are tons of howto's on this site to help you install OSX. Duba, Can we get some more info? What brand motherboard is in that Dell? What chipset is on that mobo? Does the dvd boot? Sometimes if you have an incompatible chipset you won't be able to install. It can take 3-5mins on some machines for that dvd to bootup. I have installed the same 10.4.8 install dvd on 3 different machines with completely different hardware without a problem. Now I don't want to rag on you, but might take a step back and do some reading before you jump into something you don't know anything about. Go to Dell's site find out what mobo you have, find out what graphics card you have, you know stuff like that. OK some i'll explain a little more... my chipset is intel G965 Express (notice in blue in my description above...) The dvd is loading @ start, I select -v, enter, but i get an error message after: "...doesn't match kernel..." Error in "...Storage..." and after, "wait for root device" Maybe it comes from my SATA disc? JaS Posted February 12, 2007 Share Posted February 12, 2007 My guess you need the jMicron ppf from demonoid.And this needs to apply it to an unpatched version of the iso, also be sure to use partition with this disk not the erase option when setting up your hard disks in the installer or the system will not boot afer the install. And I've got this error message : My friend chris72 said to me that i have to boot on an external DVD drive... Is it the only solution? I don't have one ...
