advice on new laptop

i'm in the market for a new laptop. i'm debating on getting an apple laptop, or a pc laptop and run osx86 on it. i'm selling my current pc laptop that i have osx86 running on it. it runs well on it (hp dv1040us) but the wireless doesnt work, and it's not quite as fast as xp runs on it.

i will be taking this laptop to class everyday. should i go apple or pc?

it wont be my only computer, i have a mac mini and a amd desktop that i built myself (amd X2 3800+, geforce 6600GT, 1 gb of ram, etc)

thanks in advance

if you're not in a rush I would wait alittle if I were you..

If you need something right away and have the cash go ahead with a powerbook.

If you want to use pc however, I wouldn't buy anything before I am certain that my

Video and all other devices work.

Its a tough call really. its up to your needs.. $$ sitation and all.. but if the macs were cheaper

I dont see any reason why people buy pcs.

thanks. you say i should wait...for what? mactels?

i do kinda need it right away...we'll see how the cash part goes

i'm not sure about pc or mac....some people say pc's hardware is way faster and/or better, what do you think? is the powerbook worth the money?

do you think the 15" is too big to carry around to class and stuff?

yeah you can wait for macatels or even for proper drivers.. the versions we're running are just

development programs.. no native hardware or drivers exist yet..

I love the powerbooks.. 15'' is nice, i prefer the new enhanced 12''.... i like it small and Have no desire

to watch dvds or anything like that on my laptop either..

Powerbooks are very good on battery and nothing works like the original Mac OSX with its native hardware..

Not yet at least.

hope it helps.. You can always throw Virtual PC and load windows XP on your mac anyways
