Crash852 Posted January 21, 2007 Share Posted January 21, 2007 I have just successfully installed Jas 10.4.8 SSE2/SSE3 Intel AMD DVD patched with Jas's ppf1 release. Everything worked great, except for one tiny thing. When I select "About This Mac" from the Apple drop down menu, my computer automatically closes everything and goes to a blue screen briefly before restarting to the normal Aqua desktop. The computer does not do a hard restart, but it almost seems like it caused the OS, but not Darwin itself, to crash and restart. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I downloaded the file and unzipped it, and it became Loginwindow.app, I move that into System\Library\SystemConfiguration\ . Is there anything I have to do after that? All the other files in there are ***.bundle files. I'm wondering if I'm doing this right, because doing just that doesn't seem to fix the problem. Sorry about the noobish question. PRSubway Posted January 22, 2007 Share Posted January 22, 2007 well to be honest my friend brought me that file and put it on my computer after he heard i was having that problem. i thought all he did was drop it in that folder, but ill call him tomorrow and see if he did anything else. preachercrash Posted January 22, 2007 Share Posted January 22, 2007 I'm searching, but can't figure out how to copy that file right now, as it says that it's 'in use' and therefore can't be copied. I'm guessing some terminal command at boot-up? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
