moviefan Posted January 17, 2007 Share Posted January 17, 2007 I was getting the question mark at start up. I booted from the install cd and the hard drive wasn't there. The iMac install cd is in the drive and it boots up from that cd (without me holding the C down!) and that's all that's on the desktop (along with the trash can). Disk first aid doesn't recognize it. System profiler shows a Mat{censored}a dvd rom drive. Is that it? More importantly, I can't eject this iMac installer cd because it keeps telling me "contains system software and can not be removed". I wanted to eject it to put in the Software Restore cd in and try to get it recognize the drive that way. How do I eject the installer cd; manually or otherwise?
