Willem de Koning
Anyone run Logic Pro 7.2 on an SSE2 or any other <SSE3 machine and have success? I want to use this as a Logic node but wondering if its maybe a waste of time Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38939-logic-pro-on-sse2/ Share on other sites
VooD
I tryed Express and it´s working, but I´m not sure about the perfomance. Logic and most other audio programs in osx seems to use sse3 a lot, so ss3 emulation in sse2 computers will reduce the perfomance for sure. (for example some time ago I discovered Garage Band was almost impossible to use, just a couple of tracks and your cpu usage was at the top) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38939-logic-pro-on-sse2/#findComment-277876 Share on other sites

grav
I'm running it on a P4 2.4 GHz and it's kind of slow. I am using a M-Audio FW410 soundcard, and if I use the highest latency setting (I/O Buffer Size of 1024 bits) it's quite usable. However, 1024 bits is bad when it comes to latency ... I think it runs better on my PB G4 1.5 GHz ... By the way, according to Activity Monitor, the main CPU strain comes from WindowServer, so it might be because I'm running without CI and QE.
