ghsu3d Posted January 16, 2007 Share Posted January 16, 2007 hey guys total newbie to the fourms so excuse me if there are some simple answers to my questions, i'm a total newbe ok i have a dual xeon 3.0ghz 533fsb with 4gb of ram and a quadro fx 3000 video card (agp8X) i can get a basic install of 10.4.6 working without a graphics card. whenever i try to update to 10.4.8 from apple it never starts up once i restart how do i update to 10.4.8? how do i update to the newest version??? do i need a "cracked version"? i tried titan on 10.4.6 it did not work, will nanit or titan work with a quadro fx 3000??? any idea on how to get the system working with dual monitors? also will i be able to run pro appz on it like fcp or shake? thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38936-dual-xeon-quadro-box/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
helios Posted January 17, 2007 Share Posted January 17, 2007 You need a dist like Jas 10.4.8 DVD with a hacked 8.8.1 kernel, whenever you update to 10.4.8 from apple it replaces the kernel for a non "hacked" version and that is one reason for the restart issue.. check the forum for more info. asap18 Posted January 17, 2007 Share Posted January 17, 2007 I think you will have a problem with your agp card, most likely maybe not acceleration at all or no dual monitors.
