sonnet
10.4.8 is sata only, u must use sata, dvdrom and hdd, once u get itno mac, you can activate ide with some hacks.. but yes sata can only be made ahci maybe that's the problem..I have only ide dvd-rw.. MWhite
I did it. (At least I hope!?!) I had to extract RAR-ed iso file again. I did this time with WinRAR. Before I extracted image on the other machine with 7-Zip and apparently something went wrong. So I extracted it with WinRAR, patched with ppf1, burned image on DVD, started VMware and hited enter during boot countdown. This time installation started correctly. NO MORE 'System config file "/com.apple.Boot.plist' THIS TIME!!!!! Now I am waiting for installation to end. Shanems3
thats good, good thign about vmware is that it emulates what mac wants to see.. i did a clean install from boot. , vm ware can emulate the sata drives for you.. i tried to go that boat but it was taking to long.. so 50 bucks got a sata dvd drive.. solved all of my installation problems, now i just have to get the post installation working.. DigitalK
btw, as far as I read, this is the only install that will work with the motherboard I have which is the msi 965 neo http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...&hl=neo+965 If I try Setting the IDE business to "raid" rather than "ide" I get the same results. do I need to have a sata dvd drive? would it be possible to copy the iso into a hard drive format and boot from that? And then install fromt he drive to another drive? Crawley
I had the same problem. Installing through vmware solved it. It's most probably caused by jmicron controller on some mainboards. here is the link for vmware install guide that worked for me: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38877-system-config-file-comapplebootplist-not-found/page/2/#findComment-491737 Share on other sites
