zisis
If you have AMD cpu follow this: 1) Download it 2) Mount the image 3) Launch Parallels.pkg... Ta-daaan! XD It says that you haven't a compatible system, "Parallels cannot be installed on this computer. Make sure that your system meets the requirements." 4) Copy Parallels.pkg on your desktop 5) Right click on it and choose "Show package contents" 6) Right click on "Contents", show informations and under "Ownership and permission" make you owner of it with a read/write access 7) Apply to enclosed items... 8) Open "Info.plist" with TextEdit and delete the follow: <key>IFRequirementDicts</key> <array> <dict> <key>Level</key> <string>requires</string> <key>SpecArgument</key> <string>machdep.cpu.vendor</string> <key>SpecType</key> <string>sysctl</string> <key>TestObject</key> <string>GenuineIntel</string> <key>TestOperator</key> <string>eq</string> </dict> </array> 9) Save and exit 10) Go to Resources folder and delete InstallationCheck and pkmkshellutility 11) Exit and launch your modified Parallels.pkg 12) Install it! ^___^ enjoy!!! Xp and Vista both blue screen a LOT... (well duh BK) but seriously.. i had to strip it down to minimal hardware to get it to install/run. errandwolfe
Can you describe a few things for us. 1.) What is your physical hardware (cpu, ram, hard drive, video card, QE/CI enabled?) 2.) Describe the environment you have created. 3.) Take Vista out of the mix, on XP when does it blue screen? What does the blue screen say? 4.) Are you running Parallels in Full Screen, Coherence, or OS Window mode? errandwolfe
As per recent posts, RC2 build 3150 has just been released, one of the major fixes is a dramatic reduction in BSOD's. This really surprises me as in months of running Parallels I have never had a BSOD, not a one. I have had the entire app crash from the memory leaks in the RC's (which has now been supposedly fixed), but never Windows itself.
