icpeanutz
First of, thank you all for helping to make this possible. I am using the latest 10.4.8 with ppf v1 and the Disk Utility patched. I figure out how to get the NIC to work. I am stuck with the onboard VGA. I have a dell dimension 4700 system. The onboard vga is GMA915 I think. If I use the GMA900 during installation of the MAC OS, it boots with blue screen. If I choose the GMA950 package, it works, but it is very slow. At the moment, I did not choose any extra package and the Apple Profiler saids that the Graphic have no Kext loaded the Quartz extreme is not enable. I read though the help/tutorial in various places, but I can not find any info on how to install the correct kext file to make the onboard VGA to work. Please comment. 2twisty
I had this same problem with another Intel 915 chipset. I loaded the 900GMA driver during install, then on reboot I bot blue blocks all over the screen. I then booted to safe mode (F8 then -x) then loaded the following package DiaboliK.GMA900.Fixer.pkg I don't have a link to it, but I found the link here on InsanelyMac. Once installed, the GFX worked fine, but it puts stuff in com.apple.boot.plist - it puts a 10 second timeout and -v for flags. I used the Plist editor (comes with XCode tools) and removed the flags and changed the timeout to 1. If I set the timeout to 0 it would sit there forever waiting for boot flags. Hope this helps!
