jonz14
Hey, My wireless network has been really screwed up since I got my MacBook, and I was wondering how to fix it. Here is what I know: My brother's computer has a linksys wireless network card and is running windows My MacBook has a AirPort Extreme card On my brother's computer windows can not configure any of the wireless settings and I have to use the app included with the wireless card to configure it. To set up the network you must press the button on the router which makes the button to a flashing white color. During this time the card on my brothers computer can detect the wireless network and my MacBook can detect the Network although it can not access any web pages. After the button flashes for 60 seconds it turns into a solid non flashing white light and then it is possible for my brothers computer connect to the router without any need of a password. When the white light (non-flashing) is on my MacBook can detect the wireless network but it says it is configured in WAP and requires a password. I do not know the password and tried "admin" that works if I need to get into my router to mess with settings. So, my brothers computer can access the router but my MacBook can't. Then if I press the button on the router again it turns orange and at that time I can connect to the router with my MacBook and it works fine but when that orange light is on, my brothers computer does not connect and then if i go through the supplied network utility (which I stated earlier) it will ask me to press the button which will make it a white flashing light (which pretty much means im going in circles) Please help me and educate me a bit about this Thanks, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38491-linksys-router-help/ Share on other sites
