Hey m8s. ;-)

I have installed the JaS 10.4.8 dvd with the Natit drivers and everything is fine.

Except for a few errors I get on startup.

I neither know what they should mean either I know how do I fix them.

So here I paste them hoping you could give me a hand.

EDIT: I attached them as an archive. They are too long to be posted separately.

Thank you for your time and patience.

Dont jump ahead and take my suggestion, wait for others to reply first, but if it comes down to reinstalling, use the Tubgirl DVD, it has support for you video card out of the box, QE/CI work right after install, worked for me, looking at your logs you use NV40, and i remember very clearly that it was included under hackgroups on the Tubgirl DVD, which is what i used.

Thanks for your reply PRocker267.

I installed TubGirl's release and I got only a blank black screen with sound after install.

Besides I don't see a reason to reinstall

The Natit drivers detect my videocard and monitor and recognize them properly. I have QE/CI supported fully and I can even play games like Postal 2, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Quake 3.

Those errors are what I really don't have any idea how to solve:

NB2N: family specific matching fails

P0P8: family specific matching fails

P0P9: family specific matching fails

P0PA: family specific matching fails

SBRG: family specific matching fails

NSMB: family specific matching fails

NMAC: family specific matching fails

IDE0: family specific matching fails

ATA0: family specific matching fails

P0P1: family specific matching fails

USB0: family specific matching fails

USB2: family specific matching fails

I think that has something to do with my other mouse and keybard but since I don't use them I will simply remove them.

display: family specific matching fails

Hmm since Natit recognises later my display properly, isn't it possible to simply turn this check off?

ethernet: family specific matching fails

I think I can simply solve this by getting a NIC that is properly recognised by OS X.

pci1102,7002: family specific matching fails

pci1102,2: family specific matching fails

That is something I really don't know what it means at all. Maybe it has something to do with sound?

pci10de,270: family specific matching fails

pci10de,27e: family specific matching fails

pci10de,27f: family specific matching fails

pci10de,2ff: family specific matching fails

pci10de,2f9: family specific matching fails

pci10de,2f8: family specific matching fails

pci10de,2fe: family specific matching fails

I know this means OS X can't detect my videocard. But since Natit detects it correctly later, isn't it possible to just switch off this detection?

Matching service count = 12

NVDA::start(display) <1>

NVDA::start(display) <1> failed

That's something I don't understand why happens. Later my display starts and in System Profiler it is recognised correctly. Maybe it has something to do with the dual-display support or something. If this is the case, isn't it possible to simply switch it off? Since I don't have and don't plan to have a second display I think this support can be safely shut down in some way. Only if I knew how.

Thanks again for your time and help m8s ;-) And for the patience to read and reply to this long post. :-(

i found these error in my log

wonder what is the problem...by the way, my system using GMA900

Jan 13 20:31:04 localhost kernel[0]: GFX0: family specific matching fails

Jan 13 20:31:04 localhost kernel[0]: display: family specific matching fails

any idea for these error?

Dellius, sorry i mis read your post lol, i thought that your system couldent boot up at all. Most of the errors i have as well, not exactlly sure what they are, but i would assume OS X was expecting one peice of hardware but found somthing else, i get a lot of the same ones.

NVDA::start(display)

NVDA::start(display) failed

I get that one as well, if your videocard has two outputs (Like mine) thats why you get it, your second output is failing, which is no big deal if your not using it. but overall, most of those errors are nothing to worry about, infact you can even hide them, im guessing your system is contstantlly booting into Verbose, lets fix that so you get the GUI boot (The apple logo and stuff)

Open terminal and type this:

sudo su

pico /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

Now look at the file, Find:

-v

use the arrow keys to navigate down there and delete the "-v", save the file (Alt+X) and reboot.

kinwah.lai, please make your own post instead of highjacking this one

PRocker, I use the gui boot but I want to fix those errors too. I simply don't like things not to work right.

For example that stupid errors I get because OS X can't recognise my videocard can be removed somehow. If only I knew how to shut down the videocard and monitor matching.

Anybody have any ideas?
