sandmanfvrga
I got it to work on Thunderbird at work on Windows, but I have configured it on my ibook and it won't download any messages. Is there anything I should know about that is different? Thanks. EDIT: What I did was turn on messages from yesterday on. Well I got them at work, but it won't pull them at home. Dial up the problem? alicheusz
Nobody? Well I was just wondering if I download them once, then I won't get this at home? I can send just fine. Maybe you should search for for IMAP email. Gmail is super but only POP. to be able to download these same massage on two computers using POP be sure to check "Lave messages on server" in server in your account preferences Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38409-getting-gmail-to-work-on-thunderbird/#findComment-274452 Share on other sites
sandmanfvrga
I have that setting at work. So when I get home and get on gmail, the messages are still on the server. See when I hit to get my messages at home, even though there are some still "new" on the net and they been downloaded at work, it say no new messages. OH well, if this don't work don't care. Synaesthesia
Damn, you've got to play around with your settings or else try a way to transfer it. Maybe you could forward it? I have to ask, pardon me. Did you get your mac mini yet? I definitely think the core solo is the way to go. It's fast, and you can swap it out with any core 2 duo chip later on... Good luck! alicheusz
there are some still "new" on the net and they been downloaded at work I am not sure did I understand correctly "new" mean that it stay in your inbox on webmail? If you get your mail at work throughout POP and have checked "leave messages on server" then you should get these same message at home throughout POP. After you get your mail at work check from web page did that new get mesage are sill in inbox if not then try set in you Settings > Forwarding and POP > When messages are accessed with POP to Keep Gmail copy in the inbox. asap18
You need to change the setting to ENABLE POP FOR ALL MAIL Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38409-getting-gmail-to-work-on-thunderbird/#findComment-274580 Share on other sites
sandmanfvrga
Synaesthesia, I got the iBook in my sig. I need a laptop and this one was a steal on ebay, practically brand new, tons of ram, and new battery from Apple. I got like 15 emails today. Alot from friends, couple from my mom, and I got them at work on Thunderbird. Then when I get home and when I get on here (did this 15 minutes ago) it says no new messages, but they are still marked as NEW on Gmail. *shrugs* I think I might have to turn the all on, but on dial up it just hands after 4 messages when I try it. Oh well, I am getting DSL sometime later on from my phone company so I think I will just not use Thunderbird for now and use the webmail with Firefox. I have never used a client really good on dial up anyway.
