tweakmyknob
I've installed osx on a few pcs, with little trouble, but I'm trying now and I'm getting a 'Disk1s3 I/O error' and some SAM MEDIA ERROR or something along those lines... then shortly after, it seems to power off Disk1s3 seems to be my dvd drive... I unplugged all other IDE devices and booted to get the same message. I've tried 2 different DVD-RW drives I've tried 2 different DVD install discs I've tried 2 different IDE cables I've tried swapping the IDE channels the drives are on, daisy chaining, seperate channels... and I've tried swapping the ram (said something about ramdisk right before the err) to no avail. *once* It got to the desktop with the mouse and the pinwheel, but then it flashed a bunch of errors up too fast to read and powered off. Any advice would be appreciated H/W is Celeron D 330 w/ICH4, Install media is 10.4.6 JaS Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38377-disk1s3-io-error-during-installation/ Share on other sites
inzeo
I saw this problem as well when I was installing OS X. I corrected it by burning the image at the slowest DVD burning speed possible. Let me know if that fixes it. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38377-disk1s3-io-error-during-installation/#findComment-273883 Share on other sites
