splinterf
I've been trying everything to get my ethernet card working. It's a Broadcom BCM5789 - dev id 169d. I've tried using nisa's and humanmx's drivers, but I get the same error with both, as do some other users of the forum: "dmesg | grep BCM" showed: AppleBCM5751Ethernet: 0 0 Start - mapping device memory failed Any ideas? If I can't get it working, I'll just have to revert to using Ubuntu. Thanks, Adam Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38364-broadcom-5789-on-acer-5672wlmi/ Share on other sites

sootboot
c'mon, there must be someone who has a clue how to make it work.. By adding dev and ven id to info.plist the card is recognised but allways says no cable is plugged in.. so that's something to start with no? sootboot
yes we know that, but there's really a lot of us using this card, and ethernet is something basic to be really able to use your hackintosh, also I don't think the solution will be too hard to find (but what do I know... :s) so I'm hoping someone who knows this stuff would spend some time in figuring out how we will get this device to work on our beloved hackintosch.. treyx86
This is the first hurdle I've not been able to jump over, as far as I can tell there's no support for the Broadcom 5789 at the moment. Perhaps buying a supported PCI card is the best option? Surely someone out there has an idea better than that though?
