Ebios read error using 10.4.6 Myz, Ok guys, i\'v tried to do this using VMware as well as dvd boot

and i am getting errors such as \"\'/com.apple.boot.plist\' not found\" and \"EBIOS read error: Device timeout\" and \"System config file \'/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist\' not found\"

these errors are not only with the DVD but even if i use the ISO too boot from in VM emulation (or using the drive mounted by Daemontools in VM) i get the same errors. I am not even able to see the grey apple :) .. any suggestions?

p.s. i\'m trying this on an inspiron 9300, p4 1.73GHz, 1.25GB Ram

I think most of those "gurus" wan't help you becouse you downloaded it , like m  Thats the reason , they are "legally" people .Im gonna try now to install a mac os x , if it so im gonna contact you
you know what, thats an excellent point that you made.. well i'll act upon this

thanks man!!! good luck with your installation.

Why are you listening to someone that has one post? Try getting a more recent (10.4.8) DVD with JaS in the title and burn it at one of the slower speed your drive can handle (2x-4x). This should clear up the ebios read error and possibly the com.apple.boot.plist not being found.

Thanks friend. I appreciate it.

I got a different 10.4.6 after this one and managed to install it fine (using vmware and mounting the iso using Daemon tools, and using Acronis Director for dual boot). These isos take so long to download even though i have like a 10mb cable connection, seeds are hard to find.. anyhow, i'll try getting the 4.8 one (is that the latest one?), also, what does 4.8 have that 4.6 doesn't?

Currently, I'm trying to get my ethernet, sound and ati x300 working on 4.6. Others are working on the intel wireless drivers right now so i'll wait for that. I'll be happy if I'm able to get the ATI, sound and internet working on it.

Again, I appreciate all you guys' efforts, and your helpfulness.

Thanks.
